This project was to research on speech and language impediment and understand where design could intervene to make people's lives easier. Not only differently abled users, but also people with temporary voice issues can use SpeaOutt. Technology is available for speech and language disorders but according to field research, it is not widely used. There are issues with accessibility, ease of use, awareness etc. In India 7.5% of the population is disabled in speech (Census 2011). When communication is disrupted, people interact less and their social circles become limited.
